The idea that aliens are likely to be AI rather than biological beings really stuck with me. It makes you wonder how we'd even recognize non-organic intelligence. If we ever need to digitize old research notes or sketches from SETI projects, an image scanner online could be surprisingly useful for preserving those materials.
